Meg Ferguson

Meg Ferguson has been an elected member of the Baltimore County Democratic State Central Committee since 1998, and Treasurer since 2002. Meg was appointed Baltimore County Criminal Justice Coordinator in July 2004 by County Executive Jim Smith, and chairs the county's Criminal Justice Coordinating Council. After she served on his transition subcommittee for juvenile justice, in 2007 Governor Martin O’Malley appointed Meg to the State Advisory Board for Juvenile Services. As an Assistant County Attorney, she represented Baltimore County in Annapolis during the 2003 and 2004 General Assembly sessions. She also represented Baltimore County on the Management Committee of the Baltimore Metropolitan Council for nine years (two years as Chair) and on the Boards of the Walters Art Museum, the Baltimore Museum of Art, and the Maryland Historical Society. Meg has previously served as the Baltimore County Labor Commissioner, practiced law, clerked for a federal appeals court judge, and worked as a legislative aide in the United States Senate.

An honors graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center and Harvard/Radcliffe College, Meg has served on numerous community boards and organizations including being a Girl Scout Troop leader, PTA officer, and community association board member. Meg and her husband Harry Ferguson, an Astronomer at the Hubble Space Telescope Science Institute, have two children, ages 19 and 15, and reside in Towson.
